Aviary Acoustics builds sound treatments for recording studios, classrooms, and other audio focused spaces. These treatments are made up of unique arrangements of acoustic panels, which are essentially wooden frames filled with insulation and wrapped in a thin fabric.
The name Aviary references a large enclosure for birds, which often include high ceilings and plants, simulating natural environments and providing space for flight. This offered a lot of inspiration when I was called on to design their logo.
I chose to created a mark that contains the letter A, within a simple siluoette of an aviary, utilizing the negative space to reference acoustic panels. The letterforms in the type signature have sharp ends, like the claws and beak of a bird. I also designed a small bird icon that pairs proportionally with the main mark, to be used as an additional element when needed.
Most musicians aren't aware of how severely their room acoustics are limiting their recordings' potential. Aviary Acoustics offers the same quality service workmanship to commercial studio owners and weekend warriors alike.”
